Meet the Aeromile Team
Our team formed in August 2023 with three members from Boston and one from San Francisco. We conceived the idea of integrating trucks with drone delivery to revolutionize last-mile efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Sophia Shen
AI Researcher
Sophia is a sophomore at Proof School located in San Francisco that has a strong focus on math and science. She has a deep interest in math and has taken courses such as game theory, theory of partitions, and topology. She also loves learning about transportation and using her coding skills in Python, Java, and R to analyze travel patterns and their impacts on the environment. Her passion in transportation has led to a summer internship at the JTL Urban Mobility Lab at MIT. In addition to data analysis, Sophia is on SFMTA’s Youth Advisory Board to help advise the city on improving transportation. In her free time, Sophia enjoys playing tennis, contemporary dancing, and perfecting her latte art.
Nathan Zhang
Designer and Engineer
Nathan, a sophomore at the Belmont Hill School in Massachusetts, is a passionate drone designer and a key member of the school's drone team. He is the co-founder and developer of several highly-rated train simulation games on the Roblox platform, accumulating over 10M impressions and garnering a dedicated base of 40k subscribers. As an aspiring graphic designer, Nathan’s artwork has been featured on Amtrak, Tri-Rail, and Via Rail Canada’s social media sites. Nathan studied Architecture & Design under Harvard Graduate of Design School’s Design Discovery Program.
Duco Zhao
Marketing Strategist
Duco, a sophomore at Newton North High School in Boston, has an expanding interest in exploring how Artificial Intelligence can revolutionize traditional industries such as education, transportation and health. He is curious about A.I.’s potential for leveling the playing field for education and its danger of misalignment with human goals. Duco is keen to learn business strategies to solve societal problems. He has previously interned as a community summer camp counselor and volunteered as a math tutor for younger students in school. He also enjoys chemistry, history, and creating things. He is a keen observer of people, caring and fun, and brings people together. Duco is also an avid soccer player for the school team. He is passionate about the strength, speed and team spirit of the soccer game. He runs both indoor and outdoor track.
Anne Li
Web Designer
Anne, a freshman at the Winsor School in Boston, is interested in a variety of subjects, including robotics, coding in java, and digital art. She is a curious individual, often asking questions on why various things happen the way they do. She is also concerned about the environment and our world’s future, leading to her involvement in this project. In her spare time, Anne enjoys playing the flute, crocheting, and baking.
